Who Wouldn’t Love a Carpathian Of Their Own?

Years ago I read every Carpathian novel I could get my hands on. It’s been a while since I have read Christine Feehan. I came across Dark Prince and picked it up and read it for the second time. I’m telling you I could not put it down, I stayed up way to late reading, I was almost late for work because I was again reading and my lunch break was far too short. I just want to go home so I can finish this book. I had forgotten how compelling her stories were. Check out her website where you can get complete lists of her books and the scoop on new releases, www.christinefeehan.com

Friend’s of the Bear Creek Library Meeting

The next meeting will be held Monday, October 12th starting at 6:00pm. There will be a meet and greet with snacks and fun from 6:00 to 6:30. The meeting will begin at 6:30 and last for one hour. Final preparatins for the book sale will be discussed.  We hope you can join us!

Got the Fever?

I just finished Karen Marie Moning’s, Bloodfever and I can’t wait until the final book in this series, Shadowfever comes out!! If you have the “fever” like I do check out Karen’s webpage, www.karenmoning.com. You can get your “fever” fix while waiting for the next installment. Lots of information, including message boards and games. Lots of fun!

Welcome Patrick Abbott!

Patrick is the new President of the Friends of the Bear Creek Library. The Friends meet on the second Monday of each month at 6:30 pm. They support the library and make it possible for us to put on our programs. The Frineds are always looking for new members.  This is an invitation for you to become involved with your library. Membership is easy, and the rewards are many!

Vampires, Oh My!

I have not read very many vampire books but two authors that I have really enjoyed are Lynsay Sands and Nina Bangs.

Lynsay Sands’ Argeneau series is an all time favorite of mine; two titles are Single White Vampire, Tall Dark and Hungry. The books are romantic comedies set in contemporary times.

Hurricane Preparedness Program

Join us on September 18th at 2:00pm, when the Office of Emergency Management will give a presentation that covers hurricane safety procedures.  In this presentation, you will learn basic key steps to ensure you and your family's safety in case of hurricane emergencies. There will also be time for question and answers after the presentation.  Houston is a major hub for hurricane happenings; do not get caught unprepared!

I’m Stuck On The Boscastles Family

This week I’m stuck on Jillian Hunter’s books about the infamous Boscastle family. I’m on my third one, The Devilish Pleasures of a Duke. This weekend I read, Wicked as Sin, and The Seduction of an English Scoundrel. I couldn’t put them down. I love her writing. It is funny and witty and steamy!

Taiwan – Plugging Into The World

Bear Creek is proud to host this fascinating exhibit that introduces, through images, digital life in Taiwan and their goal of becoming a “knowledge-based economy.” Come and take a look at Taiwan, building an e-society! Now through the end of September.
