Friend’s of the Bear Creek Book Sale

The book sale will begin Friday night at 6pm with a preview for members of the Friend’s of the Bear Creek Library. New members welcome! The main sale will be Saturday 10 am – 4 pm and Sunday 1pm – 3 pm. All proceeds go to support the library.
 

Why do you do it?

Romance novels. Why do we read them and why are we afraid to admit to others that we do? We most definitely are reading them and buying them. Look at the sales figures and circulation rates at libraries and they will attest to the fact that we most definitely are reading them and literally can’t get enough!  Eileen Dreyer has written an article, I write romance novels -- so what?, that sums up for me why I like to read them. I have not read any of her books as of yet but after reading her article I’m going to start.

The Many, Many Talents of the Bear Creek Staff real… or imagined…

 This month we will be featuring Tiffany Haggenmiller. Tiffany has worked at Bear Creek for over a year. When she is not fixing or organizing us at the library she is breeding beautiful little baby bulldogs. One of her greatest hopes is that someday one of her puppies will be accepted into the Space Program. 
 

Bear Creek Book Club

There are so many websites out there that cater to us, the reader. One that I really like is Writerspace. It was founded in 1998 and is a place where over 550 authors plus numerous readers can gather. There is so much going on I can't possibly list everything available! There are spotlights on books, chat rooms, blogs, and my favorite, contests. Each month authors give away all kinds of stuff, from free autographed books, advanced reader copies, baskets of goodies, gift cards and much, much more! You can sign up for drawings and check out some great websites of your favorite authors. It is also a great place to find new authors to read!
