Lots to Do @ Maud Marks

Looking for a fun and free event? Be sure to attend the Annual Hispanic Heritage Festival tomorrow, September 26, from noon-4pm at Maud Marks Branch Library. There’s food, fun, and crafts!

Teen Time Tidbits

Looking for something to do after school? Stop by one of our Teen Time programs, offered especially for junior high students from 2:45 - 4pm! There’s something different every day so you can come to what interests you most. Our usual schedule is:

Monday: crafts
Tuesday: computer activities
Wednesday: surprise day!
Thursday: movies
Friday: video games

See you there!

Afternoon Art This Wednesday!

Kids, celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month by coming to our program for school-aged children this Wednesday, September 9, at 4:30 pm. We’ll be making papel picado (cut paper art) as inspired by the book Making Magic Windows by Carmen Lomas Garza. See you there!

What Can You Buy For a Dollar?

Would you like to build your home library?  Stop by the Friends of the Maud Marks Library Book Sale this Saturday, August 29 from 10am to 5pm. Items include fiction, non-fiction, and children’s books. Nothing is over one dollar, and the proceeds support the library!

Remember, you can also buy a book bag for just three dollars to hold all of your purchases!

Can't Get Enough of the Library?

Are you in high school or older? Do you need to get some work experience or service hours for your organization? Come and volunteer at the Maud Marks Branch Library! Volunteers shelve books, prepare crafts, and help with other special projects. Pick up an application at the Information Desk, then return it and we’ll call back regarding schedules. Please note that new volunteers must attend one of our orientation sessions which are generally offered once a month (the first is Friday, September 11 at 4:30pm).
