Room Posters

"Your very own room poster" was the computer project in this week's teen time.  Kids learned to use Microsoft Publisher, clipart, Wordart and photos to create a poster for their room.   The designs vary but the message is the same -- MY room!  For another look at what the kids are doing in Teen Time click here.

Teen Program Begins

Kids participating in our afterschool teen programs this week designed their own binder covers for class notebooks.  The free printing was on us!  The teen program is from 2:45 till 4pm each school day.  We do something different each day: Mondays- crafts, Tuesdays- computers, Wednesdays- Surprise!, Thursday- Movies, Fridays- Gaming.  For more looks at our teen programs click here.

Free Internet Classes

This week we are holding two free Internet Basics classes. Learn to surf the web with ease! Classes are Wednesday, August 19th at 10 a.m. and Thursday, August 20th  at 7 p.m. Registration is only required for the Thursday evening class.  For questions call us at 281-492-8592 or register online for the August 20th class.

ESL Tutors Needed

Would you like to help someone learn to speak and read English?  If so, please register for our free ESL tutor training.  The one day training will be held Saturday, August 22nd from 9am to 3pm.  There is no charge for training attendance or materials. Those enrolling in the workshop are requested to actively support the ESL program for at least nine months.
