Teddy Bear Picnic

Last Wednesday, the Parker Williams Branch Library held its first Teddy Bear Picnic during Preschool Storytime.  Children brought their favorite teddy bear (or other stuffed friend) and enjoyed  a teddy bear themed storytime, craft, and a special snack.  Books shared at this event included

Dr. Seuss' Birthday Celebration

Read Across America LogoMarch 1st is Read Across America Day.  This program, sponsored by the NEA, is a national celebration of reading.  It's also a time to celebrate the life and works of Dr. Seuss.  Join us at 4 pm for a Dr. Seuss birthday party.  There will be crafts and cupcakes for children of all ages.

Christmas Bulletin Board

The holidays are upon us and there's lots to do a see at the Parker Williams Branch Library in December.  Join us on Thursday, December 6th (4pm), for Movie Madness.  This family friendly Christmas movie is rated PG.  Please contact the library for the exact title.

Stop by on Friday, December 14th (4pm), For the Holiday Craft Party.  Snowman crafts and treats for children of all ages.

Halloween Craft Party

Join us at 4PM on Friday, October 26th, for a Halloween Craft Party.  There will be treats and crafts for children of all ages.  Projects include paper plate ghosts, plastic lid monsters, spider Oreos, and zombie marshmallows.  All materials are provided.  Please contact the library, (281)484-2036, for more information. 

Teen SRP Winner

 

Congratulations to Bethany C., winner of the first Teen SRP drawing at the Parker Williams Branch Library.  Bethany  won a copy of The Hunger Games.  There are two more drawings this summer.   The July 18th drawing is for another copy of The Hunger Games and the drawing  on August 15th is for the complete Hunger Games Trilogy.  Winners are selected by random drawing from all teens (ages 12 -18) registered for the Teen Summer Reading Program at Parker Williams Branch Library.
