Black Light Puppet Show

Jean Kuecher Black Light Puppet Show

Join us at Parker Williams Branch Library on Monday, June 18th, for a black light puppet show performed by Jean Kuecher (Marionette Playhouse).  Enjoy the stories of Swimmy, Three Billy Goats Gruff, Three Little Pigs, and The Mouse and the Lion.  The performance starts at 2:30pm.  Space is limited and free tickets are required.  Tickets are available at the reference desk on the day of the performance.  This program is recommended for ages 4 & up.

Opera To Go!

Houston Grand Opera's touring company, Opera To Go!, will be performing at the Parker Williams Branch Library on Friday, May 11th, at 4pm.  This program is for all ages.  Experience high-energy opera in a fully-staged, 45-minute performance. This show is performed in English and is designed especially for today's audiences.  "Can a woman be a hero?  Based on a popular Chinese folktale, this world premiere opera explores the difference between wisdom and knowledge when a young wife must rescue her foolish husband from a magistrate's impossible tasks."

Mother's Day Craft Time

Join us on Thursday, May 10th at 4pm for Mother's Day Craft Time. This program is for ages 5 and up.  All materials are provided.

After School Craft Time

 

Join us for After School Craft Time on Thursday, March 8th, at 4pm.  We will be making bunny baskets.  All materials will be provided.

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!

The Parker Williams Branch Library hosted a birthday celebration for Dr. Seuss on Friday, March 2nd.  Children showed off their creative sides with two different Seuss inspired crafts. Cupcakes and readings from several Seuss books rounded out the party.  Special thanks to Kiarah M, Darrel B., and Nina R., from Clear Horizons Early College High school for their assistance with the cupcakes, reading, and clean-up.
