Free Computer Classes

Need to learn to use the computer keyboard?  Do you want to brush up on your skills and speed?  Come to our program and find out about proper typing techniques and practice with online tools.  The Typing & Keyboarding class will be held on Wednesday, February 22, from 3 pm to 4 pm.  Contact the library at 281-484-2036 or stop by the reference desk to register for this class.  Space is limited.

Thank You Clear Brook High School-Class of 2001

The Parker Williams Branch Library wishes to thank the 2001 Class of Clear Brook High School for funding the purchase of an additional set of the 2012 Lone Star Books.  The Lone Star Reading List is compiled by the Texas Library Association every year to encourage recreational reading for grades 6-8.

Holiday Sparkles

Looking for ways to add a bit of sparkle to your holidays?   The Parker Williams Branch Library is offering two different craft programs dedicated to holiday ornaments.  

On Saturday, December 3rd, join us at 1 pm for Holiday Beading.  We will have craft projects for children, teens, and adults.  All materials are provided.

 

 

 

There is  a second program, Beaded Holiday Decorations, scheduled for Wednesday, December 7th, at 2 pm.  This program is for adults.  All materials are provided.

Thanksgiving Fun

 

 

 

 

The children in today's storytime enjoyed books about Thanksgiving and created silly turkey hats.  Parker Williams Branch Library offers two storytimes every week.  There's preschool storytime (ages 3-6 years old) on Wednesdays at 10:30 am and toddler time (children under 3 years old) on Thursdays at 10:30 am.  Both storytimes involve books, music and movement.  Crafts are also offered as part of preschool storytime.

 

Halloween Fun

It's Halloween time at Parker Williams!  Come by and check out a scary movie or a thrilling novel. 

After School Craft Time

It's craft time again at Parker Williams Branch Library.  Join us for a Halloween themed craft on Thursday, October 27th, at 4 pm.  This program is for children ages five and up.  All materials will be provided.

Storytime Fun

Once upon a timeSummer's done and the kids are back in school, but the library still has fun planned for the little ones.  The Parker Williams Branch Library offers two storytimes every week, year-round.  On Wednesdays there's Preschool Storytime at 10:30am.  This program is for children ages 3-6.  We read stories, sing songs, and make a simple craft.  On Thursdays there's Toddler Time.  This program is intended for babies and toddlers under 3 years old.  We read short stories, sing songs, play with the parachute, and blow bubbles.

Dinosaur Discovery

Houston Museum of Natural ScienceWhat was it like to be a dinosaur?  Find out when the Houston Museum of Natural Science's Earth Science on Wheels visits the Parker Williams Library on Thursday, June 16th . Children will examine museum quality casts of carnivorous and herbivorous dinosaurs.  There will be two presentations of the program Dinosaur Discovery.  The first will be at 1:30pm and the second will begin at 2:30pm. 

Space is limited for these programs and free tickets are required.  The tickets will be available at the reference desk on the day of the program.  Children must be old enough to attend the program without an adult.  The recommended age is 5 and up.

The Snakeman

Thomas Davis, aka The Snakeman, will be back at the library to help kick off our summer reading program.   He will be doing two shows on Monday, June 6th.   The fist show will begin at 1:30pm and the second will start at 3:00pm.  Space is limited and free tickets for the show will be available at the reference desk on Monday.  Children must be old enough to attend the program without an adult.  The recommended age is 5 and up.

Movie Madness

It's movie time again at Parker Williams Library.  Join us for this family friendly movie on Thursday, March 24th, at 4pm.  The movie is rated PG and lasts about 90 minutes.  Don't forget the popcorn!

After a super-villain kills his good-guy nemesis, Metro Man, he becomes bored since there is no one left to fight. He creates a new foe, Titan , who, instead of using his powers for good, sets out to destroy the world, positioning the super-villain to save the day for the first time in his life.
