Storybook Quilts Storytimes @ Your Library

Storybook Quilts will be visiting our Preschool Storytime next Tuesday, March 12, at 10:30 am and also Thursday, March 14, at 10:30 am.  A member of the Storybook Quilts Guild will be reading a quilt-themed book and showing a quilt especially made to complement the book. Please join us for an exciting and educational experience at one or both of these storytimes.  See you then!  Happy Reading!

Mad About Downton @ Your Library

Are you already getting anxious for the next season of the continuing story of the Crawley family and the servants at Downton Abbey?  Would you like some suggested reading to do until the new season starts?  Then, please browse our display, "Mad About Downton," for some fiction and nonfiction books about that era that the Fairbanks Branch Library staff recommend for all our fellow Downton fans.  And don't forget, we can interlibrary loan books for you, too.  Happy Reading!

Cat in the Hat Storytimes

Save the Date!  The Cat in the Hat will visit our Preschool Storytime at 10:30 am on Tuesday, March 5, and our Toddler Storytime at 10:30 am on Wednesday, March 6.  Both storytimes are in the library's meeting room and the Cat in the Hat will share stories and songs with everyone.  We look forward to seeing you then.  Happy Reading!

Household Hints @ Your Library

Thinking about spring cleaning?  Organizing your household tasks?  Getting more for your money at the grocery store?  Some simple home repairs?  Then check out our new display of books, "Household Hints."  From books on household cleaning tips to effective use of coupons for buying food, there are helpful and useful titles for you to check out.  Please browse the display on your next visit, and, if you don't find what you need, ask us and we will interlibrary loan what you need.  Happy Reading!

Blind Date with a Book

Huh?  Blind Date with a Book?  Well...yeah.  Check out our new display--Blind Date with a Book--and you will notice some of the books on the display are wrapped in reddish-colored paper with only the book's barcode showing through the paper wrapping.  There is a hint on the front about the content of the book.  So, are you willing to take a chance and check out a book and then see what it is after unwrapping it?  Then visit the library and browse the display (which also includes some books that are not wrapped and you can see the title) and take a blind date with a book.  Happy Reading!
