Cloak & Dagger Reading @ your library

On your next visit to Fairbanks Branch Library, please take a look at our "Cloak & Dagger" display where we have placed some of our favorite titles about spies, inlcuding some stories about teenage spies.  If you like suspense and espionage stories, then this display is for you.  Take a look, and check out some books!

Oscar Voting @ your library

A reminder that time is running out for you to vote for your choice as Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Actress, and Best Director at the Fairbanks Branch Library.  Pick up your ballot at the front desk and circle your choices and place in the jar on the display featuring books that have been made into movies.  Ballots will be accepted through Saturday, March 06.  Ballots will be tallied on Monday, March 8, and the results posted here on this blog.

Rodeo Time @ Your Library

It is that time of the year for putting on your cowboy boots and hat to celebrate rodeo time here in Houston.  To help get you and your kids ready, the Fairbanks Branch has a special display of cowboy and rodeo stories, "Boot Scootin' Books!"  Saddle up and get on down to the library and rope a few books for fun reading.  We'll be looking for you!

Oscar Voting @ Your Library

The staff here at Fairbanks Branch thought we would like to do something a little different this year regarding the Oscar nominations.  Rather than just share among ourselves our preferences for Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Actress, and Best Director, we want you to vote for those categories, too.  We have a new display of books that have been turned into movies, "Books on the Big Screen," and there is a jar in which to place a completed ballot.  The ballots are available at the front desk (where you check out items and ask questions), so just ask for a ballot, circle your choices for the the four categories, and drop it in the jar.  After the awards are announced on March 7 at the big ceremony, I will blog here as to who won according to the tally of your votes.  See you soon at Fairbanks Branch and don't forget to get your Oscar ballot and vote!
