Seasonal Reading

It's that time of the year when the weather turns cooler and people are planning holiday activities.  But you need some time during the holiday period to sit down with a good book with younger members of your family and friends.  To assist you in selecting some holiday picture books, the library staff has a special display, "Seasonal Reading."  Please browse the books there on your next visit to the library and check out some books to share.  Happy Reading!

Classic Kids Literature

The other day some of the staff here at Fairbanks Branch Library were thinking about some of the books we really loved when we were growing up.  So, we decided to put together a new display of what we consider to be "classic" children's picture books and like to recommend to you for your pleasure.  Please browse the display--"Classic Kids Literature"--on your next visit to the library and check some out to share with family and friends.  If you have a favorite "classic" and we don't have it here at the library, please ask and we will interlibrary loan it for you.  Happy Reading!

Gobble! Gobble!

Gobble!" and you may find some books to check out and share before and during the holiday.  Happy Turkey Day and Happy Reading!

Remembering Tom Clancy

In order to honor Tom Clancy, one of the best-read authors of Fairbanks Branch Library readers, the library staff has created a special display of books written by Mr. Clancy.  One of the masters of the modern-day thriller, he applied his knowledge of the military to many of his stories and created memorable characters who have been portrayed in several films by well-known actors.  Tom Clancy died Tuesday, October 1, in Baltimore, Maryland at the age of 66.  If you have not read one of his books, please give yourself a treat and pick one from our display to read.
