Crazy Shoes Party @ Your Library

Hey, all you cool cats out there!  Get ready for our Crazy Shoes Party on Thursday, June 28, at 11:00 am in the meeting room here at the Fairbanks Branch Library.  We will have some crazy shoes story books to share with you and several purrrrfectly interesting craft activities, too.  Plus, we will have some refreshments to serve.  So, mark your calendars and we will see you on the 28th at 11:00 am.  Happy Summertime Reading!

"Wild Things" & Butterflies

Are you a "Wild Thing?"  Do you like butterflies?  Then, don't forget the "Where the Wild Things Are" Party on Tuesday, June 19, at 3:00 pm in the Fairbanks Library meeting room.  We will share some stories, make a "wild thing" puppet, and have some refreshments.  On Thursday, June 21, at 11:00 am in the library's meeting room is our Butterfly Storytime and craft activity program.  Please join us for stories about butterflies, make some butterfly crafts, and some refreshments.  See you soon and Happy Summer Reading!

Slither In @ Your Library

Do you know how many types of snakes are found in the Houston area?  Do you know how many of these are poisonous snakes?  If you would like to find out and learn more about snakes and actually touch and hold some snakes, then join us this Thursday morning at 10:30 am in the meeting room of the Fairbanks Branch Library.  Mr. Clint of Texas Snakes will be here with some of his snakes to talk about snakes and snake safety.  So, slither on in!

    

Teen Gourmet @ Your Library

Save the date!  Monday, June 11, at 2:00 pm!  Get your chef's hat and your sweet tooth and join us for Teen Gourmet time in the meeting room at the Fairbanks Branch Library. Teens can make things like egg-less cookie dough; rice crispy treats--using different add-ins, food colorings, and shapes to make these extra fun; molded chocolates using sprinkles and other add-ins to make them extra tasty; or cake pops. Don't forget--Monday, June 11, at 2:00 pm.  Sweeten up your summer and don't forget to sign-up for the Summer Reading Program beginning on June 4.  Happy Summer and Happy Reading!

Don't Leave Home Without One!

What should you never leave home without, especially if you are taking a trip?  A travel guide, of course!  As summer gets closer and students will be out of school for the summer, it's time to think about vacations and where to go.  To help you plan your summer vacation, we have a new display of travel guides for traveling in our 50 states and also outside the country.  Please plan a trip to the library and browse the display.  If we don't have the travel guide you need, please ask us and we will interlibrary loan one for you.  Happy Summer Vacation Planning!
