Toddler Time

New Storytime Hours

StorytimesStarting on Tuesday, August 26th, we will have two Toddler Times every Tuesday!  More fun for everyone!  Toddler Time will now be at 10:00am and again at 10:30am every Tuesday!

Scream For Ice Cream?

That time has come! Do you know what I am talking about? I am talking about bidding summer goodbye. Starting tomorrow, we will officially be into August. We do everything in a fun style and that applies to saying goodbye as well.

Are you a Book-aneer?

Now that “the spring has sprung,” you may want to spend more time outdoors (well, maybe after the city’s trees’ pollen production has subsided).  If so, why not plan one of your walks or trips to the park around a visit to the library? Whether you want to introduce your “little ones” to the wonderful realm of books, or whether they already love reading (or being read to), an escapade to one of our library’s storytimes may be quite an adventure!  Last week, Mrs. Donna talked about seeds and gardening, and this week, she will try to introduce you to her favorite pirates, and she promises they won’t be (too) scary.  Plus, she always shares with you some of her other beloved books.

So don’t dilly-dally!  We have the perfect times for you—after-breakfast and right-before-lunch:

If You Want To Be Happier... Come To Toddler Time

Have an active toddler? A little one who is hard to please perhaps? I think we can help you here. Bring them to Toddler Time. We have three different times when you can bring your toddlers here and some have fun with them and watch them having fun too. Join us on Wednesdays at 10 AM and Thursdays at 10 AM and 11 AM in the Earl Elliot Room.

We also hold a huge collection of adorable early reader books and picture books. Just to give you an idea, here’s a couple of them.

Pirate Ships! AHOY

Pirate ship with ghosts and sir thomas from Narnia

Arrg Maties! Today we built our very own pirate ship!  We used the template I found on Red Ted Art blog, then we used all the different crafts we used through out the week and some toys we had laying around to compliment our pirate ship.

The ghost from our Wednesday Toddler Time Craft, the foamy ocean was made in our Preschool Picassos program and the rest was from Red Ted.

Turtle Transition

Aquatic TurtleOur Turtles are transitioning to a new home the Friday, May 10th. We love Big Mike and Raphael but they have grown too much to keep in the small tank we have here at Northwest.  Our space for tanks is limited at the library so they will be going home with me at the end of this week.

Big Mike is already in his new home and Raphael will be joining him on Friday. I know we'll all miss them at the library but they are more comfortable in a larger environment with more space to swim and move freely.

Be sure to stop in and say goodbye to Raphael before he joins Big Mike in their new home!
