Celebrate Mardi Gras - Make a shoebox float on Monday, January 28

      Mardi Gras (Fat Tuesday) is February 12.  In the next couple of weeks there will be parades in places such as Kemah, Galveston, Lake Charles, New Orleans, and Mobile.  To get in the Mardi Gras spirit, children ages 4-12 can make a Mardi Gras shoebox float on Monday, January 28 at 4:30 pm.  We will have shoeboxes and lots of beads, stickers, colorful streamers and other items to decorate a float. 

Afterschool Ancient Art Program coming for children 10 years and older in February

   For four Mondays in February (4th, 11th, 18th and 25th), children ages 10 and above will explore and create artwork in the style of several ancient cultures.  This afterschool program will start at 4:30 pm and last for an hour.  Children should be able to attend each of the four weeks.   They will need a smock or old shirt to protect their clothing while doing the art projects.
