Exploring Thailand @ The Library

Each year in May, the Atascocita Branch Library, presents programs to celebrate Asian-Pacific American Heritage Month. This is an incredible opportunity for families to learn a little about  Asian, Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander peoples and their culture.  This year, we learned about Thailand.

Meet Your New BOLT Members!

On Monday, November 8th, the 2010-2011 Atascocita Branch Library BOLT (Board of Library Teens) met to discuss upcoming teen events, fundraising, and renovating the teen area. Members include (from left to right) Scott Crawford, Allison Raffety, Kevin Jiang, Sol Harper, Ariel Thomas, Emily Dousay, Hillary Pruitt, and Jonathan Cotledge.

Their next event will be an afternoon of cookie decorating on Saturday, December 4th from 1-3pm. All ages are welcome!

Celebrate Black History Month @ the Jazz Cafe

Celebrate Black History Month on Tuesday, February 16th at 7pm with an evening of cool jazz and hot food. Enjoy the jazz stylings the of Thomas Band (pictured left) while sampling cuisine from our African American history cookbooks. Sponsored by BOLT (Board of Library Teens).
