In just a few days we will be enjoying the day called Thanksgiving. To many it’s a time of meeting with family, friends and plenty of eating. But have you really taken the time to explore the beginning of Thanksgiving? Come to the Library and check out this book called 1621: A New Look at Thanksgiving a book by Chatherine O'Neill Grace and Margaret M. Bruchac..This book has a good spin on the subject. The Aldine Library had a special guest on the afternoon of Friday, October 5th. State Representative Armando Walle stopped by to visit with staff including HCPL director Ms. Rhoda Goldberg and Aldine branch manager Clara Maynard. Representative Walle toured the building and presented the branch with a signed copy of Armadillo Rodeo by Jan Brett.

Are you tired of spending a bundle on books at the bookstore and want a good read for a great price? Well, look no more. Mark your calenders for Saturday August 25th at 10am in the Northwest library meeting room, where Friends of the Library will be hosting their wonderful book sale just for you! Find great picks on movies, music, magazines, special items, and of course, who can forget the books. Purchases you make will be used to support the library and all programs we have during the year. Isn't it great, you buy great books at a bargain price and at the same time you are helping to support your public library.
