Books Alive! Week - Baby Playtime on Friday, March 16 at 10:00 am

   Looking for something to do with your child under 18 months of age?  Join us on Friday morning from 10:00-11:00 am  for Baby Playtime.  We'll have fun books, toys, and bubbles.   No tickets are required for this program.  Just come to the Children's Activity Space to mingle with other parents of babies and have some fun...

Books Alive! Week - Tuesday - Spring Crafts in Children's Department

Looking for something crafty for the children to do on Tuesday afternoon?  Join us as we celebrate Spring Break with some fun crafts.  We'll be making a cute inchworm and a colorful butterfly from clothespins at 2:30 pm.  The butterfly will be doubly fun because it will have snack items inside (cereal and dried fruit) that can be eaten later!  Tickets are required.  They are free and available in the Children's Department starting 30 minutes before the program.

Books Alive! Week coming soon

    The signs of spring are popping up everywhere: flowers are blooming, humidity is rising, and children are eagerly anticipating CCISD's Spring Break!   If you're looking for some fun for the family, join us for Books Alive! Week.  Sponsored by the Friends of Freeman Library, this annual event features special programs each day of the week.   The programs will run March 12-16 this year.  

Monday, March 12 - 2:30 pm - Wiggly, Wonderful WORMS! - educator Ellen Hutto of Saltgrass Science talks about why worms are important for the garden.

Books Alive! Week Returns Next Week

Get your calendars ready!  We have several exciting programs planned in the Children's Department for Books Alive! Week -  March 14-18.   Books Alive! Week is sponsored by the Friends of Freeman Library.  Each year during Spring Break, we have a special afternoon program in addition to our regularly scheduled storytimes.  Our storytimes and Family Night will have a Spring theme this week.  Here's a description of the Books Alive! Week programs.

Monday, March 14 - Movie Break 2:30 pm - Join us for a classic family movie.  Snacks will be provided.  Tickets are required.  They are available from the Kids Information Desk starting 30 minutes before the program.

Tuesday, March 15 - 1:00-3:00 pm - Get your face painted, grab a balloon animal, and visit with Clifford the Big Red Dog.  No tickets are required for this event.
