Hurricane season is upon us! On Wednesday, August 7 at 6:30 P.M., the Harris County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management will be on hand to present "Hurricane & Disaster Preparedness". This informative program, which will be held in the library Meeting Room, is free and open to the public.
With all of the active shooter news around the country the past few months, we wanted to share some resources you may find helpful. First, we have a link to a short video produced by the Texas State Office of Risk Management on Active Shooter Emergency Preparedness. There is a great deal of good information in the video, however please be aware that it may be disturbing to some viewers.
For parents who want to talk with their children about staying safe, the library carries books which may help you discuss a variety of safety topics with them:
Information for Persons with Disabilities: Harris County Public Library will make reasonable accommodations for persons with disabilities who are interested in attending library programs. To make a request for yourself or someone you know, please notify the Branch Librarian two working days in advance of the program.
