Dance Salad Screening

DancersOn Monday December 6 our regularly scheduled movie will not be seen so we may bring you a special presentation of Houston International Dance Coalition’s Dance Salad Festival. The screening includes footage of contemporary, multi-discipline dances from various international performers. It will be held in the meeting room at 4:15 PM. We hope to see you there.

Performers from Partners in Time demonstrated various dances. They showed the audience partner dances such as salsa, foxtrot, and jitterbug. For your enjoyment, please check out the video from last Friday's Under50Over.

Come join us as Gene McEwen, local dance instructor give a demonstration and tips on dancing.

This presentation happens Friday, October 8th at 10:30 am. This will take place in the Marge Jacobson Community Room on the first floor of the library. Dance Salad? Huh? What in the world?

Do you love Dancing with the Stars? How about seeing dance of an even higher standard? Join us for a screening of A Taste of Dance Saladon June 7th at 4:00 PM. Dance Salad is a festival of dance that captures the excitement of live performances by leading dancers from all over the world. This happens just once a year; so don't miss out. Also after screening the masterful and modern dances, you can ask all your questions to the festival organizers!

Native American Dance

On November 23, come to the Baldwin Boettcher Library to learn authentic Indian Dances and Folklore.  With the aid of a video by the Grey Eagles, and music choreographed and researched by Carole Howard, Princes Wa-Be-No-Que of the Chippewa tribe, we will try to learn the Corn Grinders Dance and a Rain Dance.  This event will begin at 2 pm.  So come one, come all to learn the Native American Dance Steps of old.
