I'm reorganizing my diet after reading The Happiness Diet by Tyler Graham and Drew Ramsey. I knew that eating things like sugar would make me peppy at first and crash me later, but I didn't realize how certain vitamins and minerals can affect the actual workings of my brain. Eat the right things and avoid the wrong things - you can improve your mood and increase your energy level. Check it out!

Help for more resolutions that go by the wayside. The terrible 'e' word (exercise) and better food choices. There are many books on nutrition, healthy cooking and exercise at the library. Here are a few:
Secrets to Permanent Weight Loss- Why do diets not work? Why does eating fat not make you fat? How can you regain your energy and much more? LIFE Workshop offered by Health Source Chiropractic and Progressive Rehab. Wednesday, December 8, 10-11am, LRNC 131.
You might find it ironic that this food-heavy month is also dedicated to good nutrition. Sure, first tempt us with stuffing, a plump turkey dinner, pie and other food indulgences, THEN tell us it’s Good Nutrition Month.

Love the skin you’re in. Beauty is more than skin deep. These truths I hold to be self-evident! And so does fashion journalist Mimi Spencer, the author of a new book called 101 Things to Do Before You Diet. With Spencer’s humor throughout the book, I realized that I had probably lost about a pound just from laughing. Check it out, because as the cover says, “Looking great isn’t just about losing weight.”
