Hurricanes: Be Prepared!

The Hurricane season is now here. Be sure to be prepared and ready if a storm threatens our area. Your Galena Park Branch has several items that can help you prepare for such a storm such as interactive compact disc hurricane tracking charts. These interactive charts are very informative and contain a little bit of hurricane history. When visiting our branch, be sure to ask for a NOAA Extreme Weather Information sheet. This laminated sheet contains National, State, and County information as well as Radio Stations to monitor. We also have several Pocket Guides for Emergency Preparation. These pocket guides also give advice as to what to do and what not to do during an environmental emergency. The interactive CD’s and Emergency Pocket Guides are available in both English and Spanish. Other emergency information can be found by visiting the Harris County Homeland Security and Emergency Department Web
