Local Student Raises Money for the Library

Elodio with his Donation BoxMeet Elodio. He's a student in the area and enjoys coming to the Aldine Branch. He likes it so much that he took it upon himself to raise money for the branch. Lately he has been collecting the loose change he finds and keeping it in an old candy box so that he can give it to the branch once it is full.

When he turned in his first donation we asked him why he was gathering the change for us. He said that he wanted to make sure the "library stays open forever." Also according to Elodio, it is his hope that kids will always be able to come to the library and have fun. We thank you, Elodio, for your efforts. We are glad that we can be here for you.

The Aldine Branch Library Recycles

As a fund-raiser, the Aldine Branch Library has increased our paper recycling efforts over that last few months. Before we began this campaign, the branch and our customers were averaging just over a half of a ton of paper collection a month. Now we are averaging almost two tons a month! We can’t thank customers enough for stepping up for their community. Our goal is to collect four tons of recyclable paper every month and we know we can do it with your help.
