Science Black Light Puppet Show!

Prepare yourselves to be dazzled and amazed as science comes alive in this spectacular 45-minute show.  Professional puppeteer Jean Kuecher will explain science concepts and capture your imagination with her glowing black light puppets. Puppets

When: Tuesday, August 5, 3:00 p.m.

Note: the room will be darkened for the show.

50 free tickets will be given out 30 minutes before the program.

Intended for children at least 5 years of age.  Children must be able to sit through the program without a parent present.

Squirrel Time!

Come enjoy a magical morning of story time, puppet shows, and more here at the High Meadows Library. This Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. our theme for story time will be all about our furry little friends called squirrels. Come sit back, relax, and enjoy our puppet show, followed by silly songs and a craft where you can make a squirrel puppet of your very own! Our story times are open to toddlers and preschoolers alike. If you can't make it this Tuesday, don't fret, our story times are held every Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. I hope to see you here!

 

Shadow Puppets, Thursday 10:30 AM

Picture of shadow puppets are meant to be displayed here.Thursday, January 24 we are building puppets.  On the fourth Thursday of the month here at the Katherine Tyra Library we invite children ages 3 and up to come enjoy an hour of engineering and original creative genius!  This Thursday we are constructing puppets!  I hope you can join us!  This program is intended for children 3+.

Be a Puppeteer! Saturday, April 17, 2010 at 2pm in the Robin Bush Room. Children 5-12 years will create fluorescent paper hand puppets and perform behind a black light puppet stage. Master puppeteer, Jean Kuecher, will inspire the children to manipulate and speak for their puppets. Groups of 3 or 4 persons will create their own original puppet show from behind a hand puppet stage. All supplies will be provided. Children will take their own original puppet creations home.
Monday, April 26th 4:30pm
“Shakespeare for Kids” a play featuring live actors presented by Hampstead Theatre Company takes place on Monday, April 26, 2010 at 4:30pm in the Robin Bush Room. Audience participation is encouraged. Lots of fun is sure to ensue while children learn about some of Shakespeare’s most famous plays!  Recommended for children 6 and up.

Here at Toddle Time

Come one, come all!  We are  looking for toddlers from 2 to 3 years of age to join, Ms Nancy at Toddler Time.  Ms Nancy will read books, sing songs, and entertain you with her puppets.  So, we'll see you all at Toddler Time on Thursdays at 10:30 am.

Story Time on the Go!

Did you know Ms. Nancy is available to present a story time, puppet show, or science program at your school, day care, or meeting place? 

Would you like the library present at your open house or a meeting to provide information about our services and issue library cards?

HISPANIC HERITAGE FESTIVAL-SAVE THE DATE!

On Saturday September 26th, the North Channel Library will host the annual Hispanic Heritage Festival. Please mark this date on your calendar! Commissioner Sylvia Garcia will be on hand to kick off the celebration. Puppeteers will present a fun show in the Children's Area. Then we move outside for free food, crafts, music and more from 10 am until 2 pm. Businesses are invited to make donations. Please call for more information: 281-457-1631

Summer Fun Continues

Jean Kuecher's Marionette Playhouse presented an exciting show of Rumpelstitskin. The princess agrees to the wicked elf's demand to change straw to gold, but in the end, the princess wins.

 

On Tuesday, July 28 at 10:30 am we will have a storytime and craft making designs with scratch art. On Thursday, July 30 at 10:30 am, Texas Parks & Wildlife, Sheldon State Park will talk about Texas animals with a program called Skins and Skulls! Join us for these fun programs.
