Every year I set aside time during the Christmas holidays to watch certain movies. There’s a wide variety, from comedies to dramas to musicals to animated films. And my favorites usually have a love story as the focus. After all, Christmas is about love, whether it’s romantic or between friends or among family.
 

 

I’ve divided this list into categories because I like finding the things that certain movies have in common. So if you’re looking a particular kind of holiday love story, maybe one of these will interest you.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! I’m especially fond of this holiday because I do have more than a little Irish blood, something that an inordinate number of people in the U.S. can claim. In fact, it seems that, on March 17, everyone claims to be Irish. Why else would they be chugging all the green beer?

It's Halloween!

Why do we like to be scared? Do you think it might all go back to that first jack-in-the-box encounter? We turn the crank, the clown jumps out, we get scared, and then we laugh. That little thrill just gets us every time.
When Halloween comes around every year, we start thinking about dressing up in costumes and snacking on tiny boxes of candy and miniature candy bars – and what movies we can watch to scare the daylights out of us! Or make us laugh. Or maybe even make us cry.

I’m sticking with a ghost theme this year, and I’ve divided my viewing into three categories.
