Book Clubs News

Here’s what our book clubs are reading in September:
Afternoon Book Club (1st Tuesday, 3 pm): Salvage the Bones by Jesmyn Ward
Paranormal Book Club (2nd Monday, 7 pm): Bitten by Kelley Armstrong
Inspirational Book Club (2nd Thursday, 7 pm): Scoop by Rene Gutteridge
Homeschool Book Club (3rd Monday, 1 pm. Because space is limited, pre-registration is required): The Westing Game by Ellen Raskin
Non-Fiction Book Club (3rd Tuesday, 3 pm): The Killer of Little Shepherds: A True Crime Story and the Birth of Forensic Science by Douglas Starr
After Austen Book Club (Last Monday, 7 pm): Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
Mystery Book Club (4th Thursday, 1 pm): Defending Jacob by William Landay

A couple of notes: sadly, we have retired the History Book Club. We have also changed the name of the Tweens Book Club to the Homeschool Book Club. And because it has proved to be so popular and our space is limited, we’ve had to require a first-come first-served pre-registration for that club alone. Registration opens August 27th. To register, phone the main library number, 832-559-4200,and ask for the YA Librarian.

New Storytime Schedule Starting In September

Each week, the Atascocita Branch Library, provides seven age appropriate storytime programs for families in our community.  As many of you know, the toddler storytime sessions have become extremely popular, and this has been especially true for the morning toddler session. Therefore, starting in September, we are making a few small changes to our program schedule. We hope that these changes will be positive ones for the community, and we look forward to seeing more of our friends.

Preschool Storytimes in September

Please join us for preschool storytimes during the month of September as we explore fun preschool concepts such as letters, numbers, shapes and colors. Preschool storytime is every Tuesday morning at 10:30 a.m.
