Celebrate Dr. Seuss Day

Come everyone and join us for a Read Across America celebration of Dr. Seuss and his beloved books this Saturday, March 1st 2:00pm - 4:00pm.  We will readThe Lorax the Cat in the Hat and the Lorax projected for all to see then make a Thing 1 and Thing 2 hand craft and a Lorax Mustache.  While everyone listens to the stories enjoy a Cat in the Hat marshmallow treat or Lorax cookies.  Limit 40 children per hour.  The first hour will be Cat in the Hat and the second hour The Lorax. Come dressed as a Dr. Seuss character to win a prize

February Children's Museum Storytime

Children's MuseumWould you like to get your 3-7 year old child off to a good start with learning?  Try our  Children's Museum Storytime designed by the Children's Museum of Houston.  This Thursday, February 20th at 4:30pm in the Northwest Branch Library meeting room we will present the theme called Loving Limits.  We ask that a parent or caretaker come with the children. At the end of the workshop, after you fill out a short survey you will receive a free pass good for four people to visit the Children's Museum. Can your mind come out to play?

The Rythm of the Drum

The Aldine Library is hosting a special Pajama storytime in honor of Black History Month on Monday, February 24th at 7 PM titled "The Rhythm of the Drum." Children will have the opportunity to learn about the history of the drum in the African American culture through stories, songs, activities and crafts. As part of the program, children will make a drum to take home. Come join the fun. We'll see you in the Meeting Room.

Stratford Storytime

Only two more storytimes in November! We will be closed on Thursday, the 28th, so be sure not to miss the family storytimes on the 14th & the 21st!~ We will have some fun Thanksgiving activities and crafts on Thursday, the 21st.

Apple Storytime Theme and Books

Our talented Children's Librarian, Ms Dawn, is sharing her favorite books about apples in storytime this week.  If you were not able to attend or would like to extend your child's experience, checkout my blog this week. For your convenience, I have also placed several picture books on the display shelf.
