It's Chilly Out There

The temperature has dropped and it will be cooler for the next several days.  So, get your comforter, crawl into bed and read a few of these chilly tales.

'Tis the Season

If the recent cooling in the weather is any indication the holiday season is here. We've added some holiday themed titles to our book display case in the hallway here at the Aldine Library to get you in the spirit of things. Here is a photo I took in West Texas of some red berries in the snow. Season's Greetings!

Baby, It's Cold Outside

deep kiss of winterOkay, it's actually been kind of cold for a couple of days in Houston, Texas and many of us have been enjoying the chill before we start wearing our shorts again.  I think that people who have always lived in warm climates romanticize snow and wintry temperatures, with pictures of fireplaces, snowmen and hot chocolate dancing in our heads, instead of snow tires, shovels and bursting pipes.  While safely ensconced in our temperate zone, what's the harm in that?

Help Us Celebrate the Holiday Season

Now, that our Christmas tree is up, we need help decorating it.  Families are invited to stop by the library to create a Christmas ornament for our tree.  Materials will be available during business hours. While you are at the library check out our holiday books.

Book an Adventure @ the Library

One of the great things about becoming a reader is that you have the ability to go anywhere, be anyone and learn anything you desire.

This week I have booked readers on a trip to discover lands far from Texas. You better dress warm because here the  frigid temperatures have dipped well below freezing and you are in a race against time.
