American Dream for English Language Learners

The American Dream Starts @ Your Library

Do you know someone who wants to learn English?  We can help.

Last spring Baldwin Boettcher was thrilled to receive a grant from Dollar General Literacy Foundation and the American Library Association. With these American Dream funds we were able to purchase many new books, DVDs and CDs to help adults who want to learn and improve their English, as well as increase the number of ESL classes at our branch.  A Saturday afternoon class with child care was added to allow working parents to participate, and the library converted a former vending machine room into a Language Lab and installed the Rosetta Stone program on three computers.  The Language Lab is available for ESL students to practice and study whenever the library is open.

Classes are ongoing and students may begin at any time.  Please call the library at 281-821-1320 and speak with Elise or Cindy for more information.
