American Psycho by Bret Easton Ellis

Hello horror lovers! I've decided to try something new every month. I am going to start reading horror novels that were later turned into some of my all time favorite horror movies. Sounds fun, right!

This week's pick is American Psycho by Bret Easton Ellis. Set in Manhattan during the 80s, we say hello to Patrick Bateman. Patrick is young, handsome and well educated. He works at a prestigious Wall Street firm and spends his evenings partying with colleagues and his girlfriend. But that's not all. When he's not working or partying or talking about great 80s music, Patrick spends his free time committing gruesome murders.

American Psycho is quite an intense read. There is quite a lot of gore and horrific scenes that promises to make your stomach turn. American Psycho is for horror fans that can handle the sadistic person that is Patrick Bateman. American Psycho differs quite a bit from the movie starring Christian Bale but I did enjoy it. I did skip a couple pages here and there because I couldn't take some of the very graphic details but overall a great read for horror fans.
