April Programs in the Children's Department

Now that springtime is in full bloom, get out in the fresh air and join us for some fun children's programs this month.   Toddler Time is held on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at 11:15 am.   It is for children 18 months to 3 years old along with a parent or caregiver.   Preschool Storytime is held on Tuesday & Wednesday at 1:30 pm.  It is for children 3-5 years old along with a parent or caregiver.  Twilight Tales is held every Thursday night at 6:30 pm.  It is a storytime that follows the themes of the toddler and preschool storytimes.  It is designed for preschool age on up.   All storytimes require tickets.  They are free and available at the Kids Information Desk starting 30 minutes before the program.   Here are the themes for April storytimes: Bunnies (April 2-5), I Love Reading (April 9-14), Earth Day (April 16-19), Clothes (April 23-26), and Favorite Stories with Parachute Activity (April 30-May3).

We haven't forgotten the youngest Freeman visitors.   Book Babies is held on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings at 10:15 am.   The Book Babies program is for children infant to 18 months old and a parent or caregiver.    The program has songs, board books, nursery rhymes, playtime, and bubbles.   The Book Babies tickets are given out at as soon as we open at 10:00 am.

For school age children, there is an afterschool craft on the second Wednesday of the month and an afterschool movie on the fourth Wednesday of the month during the school year.   For this month's craft, we will be celebrating National Library Week by making some bookmarks on Wednesday, April 11 at 4:30 pm.   The afterschool movie will be shown on Wednesday, April 25 at 4:30 pm.  Tickets are required.  They are free and available at the Kids Information Desk starting thirty minutes before the program.

On Friday, April 27, there be a Toddler Open Gym from 10:00-11:00 am.  No tickets are required.  We will have educational toys, books, bubbles and lots of fun.   This  program is designed for toddlers along with a parent or caregiver.   For questions about this program or any other children's program, please contact the Children's Department at 281-488-1906.
