Back to the Chalkboards!

School LockersDespite the excruciating temperatures, summer break is coming to a close and the school year is beginning. High school is such a defining period in any teenager’s life that Hollywood directors have shot countless movies set in their halls. John Hughes and the Brat Pack are notable for some of the most iconic movies about American teenagers, but the genre has touched on all aspects of high school life. My high school days have come and gone, but I still nurture a deep appreciation for all movies set in high schools. (In fact, I think I love them more now that I don’t actually have to go to school myself the next day!)

If you are feeling nostalgic about high school, getting ready to start school, or trying to convince your summer-obsessed teenager that high school is necessary, browse the HCPL catalog and request a movie today!

I absolutely love Clueless!! Definitely a guilty pleasure.  I also really enjoy 10 Things I Hate about You, Election, & Dead Poets Society.  Great list!

I have loved 10 Things I Hate

I have loved 10 Things I Hate about You since the first time I saw Heath Ledger on the screen singing "you're just to good to be true..." I admit I have never seen Election, but Dead Poets Society always makes me get a little teary.

Thanks for adding to the list!
