I Never Saw Another Butterfly : Children's Drawings and Poems from Terezin Concentration Camp, 1942-1944 is a selection of children's poems and drawings reflecting their surroundings in Terezin Concentration Camp in Czechoslovakia from 1942 to 1944. The title comes from a poem written by Pavel Friedmann.
The Holocaust Museum Houston is collecting 1.5 million handmade butterflies to represent the 1,500,000 children who perished in the Holocaust for "The Butterfly Project." All of these butterflies will be incorporated into an exhibition scheduled for Spring 2014 as a memorial to these children.
For the month of January, Clear Lake City - County Freeman Branch Library has displayed its contribution to the Butterfly Project. Come see the 32 butterflies. After January, Freeman will send these butterflies to the Holocaust Museum Houston. Supplies for our part are compliments of the Friends of Freeman Library.
