Calling All Otaku! Clubs and Cons For Teens

Are you ready to get your fan on? We are only 9 days away from Oni-Con, one of Houston's oldest anime conventions. Cosplayers are working on last minute details. I'm getting my list ready so I know which volumes of manga and anime that I need to buy and which ones I already have at home. The countdown has begun!

But what if you can't attend anime conventions or need an anime fix between conventions? Check out your local library! Click on the blog post for a list of library anime clubs for teens.

Please note, these clubs part of the Young Adult program so they are geared toward teens. If you have any questions about the suitability of the club for younger library patrons, please contact the library directly.

Aldine--Anime For Youth meets every other Friday from 3:30 to 4:30pm. Contact Ryan for details.

Atascocita--Club Anime! has been around since February 2006 and is still going strong. It meets the last Thursday of each month at 7pm.  We watch DVDs, discuss manga and art, eat Pocky, and hang out. Contact Miss Darla (me!) for more information.

Barbara Bush @ Cypress Creek--Club Otaku meets the second Thursday of each month from 5-6:30pm. Contact Rebecca for more information.

Fairbanks--Even though they don't have an official club, the anime club from the Harmony School of Excellence meets at the library on Friday afternoons from 3:30-5pm.

Katherine Tyra Branch at Bear Creek--Their club meets once a month during Teen Time on Mondays at 4pm. Check the calendar for exact dates or contact Jennifer for details.
