Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month at the Atascocita Branch Library
I am excited to inform you that children’s author, Gwendolyn Zepeda, will be presenting a special program in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month.
Growing Up with Tamales will be read by the author, and she will be happy to answer any question. We will provide a small snack, providing children the opportunity to taste this wonderful holiday food. Tickets/registration are not required.

Gwendolyn Zepeda was born in Houston, Texas in 1971 and attended the University of Texas at Austin. Her first children's book, Growing Up with Tamales / Los tamales de Ana (Piñata Books, 2008), won numerous awards, including designation as a 2009 Charlotte Zolotow Award Highly Commended Title.
The Texas Institute of Letters announced Gwendolyn Zepeda's latest bilingual picture book, Sunflowers / Girasoles (Piñata Books, 2009), as the winner of the Austin Public Library Friends Foundation Award for Best Children's Book. A two-time Houston Arts Alliance literary fellowship winner and award-winning poet, Zepeda regularly lectures at universities throughout Texas.
The Atascocita Library is located near the intersection of Pinehurst Trail Dr. and FM 1960. From Highway 59N take the FM 1960 exit. Turn right on FM 1960. Go six miles east to Pinehurst Trails Drive. Turn left onto Pinehurst Trails Drive. The library is on the right. (Key Map #337V)
