February Programs for Children @ Freeman Library

February is the shortest month, but we won't be short of events to celebrate this month in the Children's Department.   Here are our special programs this month:

Thursday, February 13 @ 4:30 pm - Black History Month  - celebrate Black History Month with a fun weaving craft inspired by the colorful Kente cloth of Africa, music, a short movie, and a treat.  This program requires tickets.  They are free and available at the Kids Information Desk starting 30 minutes before the program.

Friday, February 14 @ 2:30 pm - Valentine's Day Craft & Treat - if you didn't get enough hearts already, join us in making a robot valentine craft, a special valentine card, and a tasty valentine treat.  This program requires tickets.  They are free and available at the Kids Information Desk starting 30 minutes before the program.

Thursday, February 20 @ 4:30 pm - Mardi Gras Shoebox Float Building - Help us decorate for Mardi Gras by creating a Mardi Gras Shoebox Float to decorate our Rotunda Area.  We'll provide everything you need - shoebox, colorful decorations, and lots of glue!  We just need some float builders to help us out.  We'll hold onto the floats to show off through Tuesday, March 4 (Mardi Gras Day).  After that Tuesday 3/4, our float builders are welcome to come pick up their float and keep it.  This program is designed for children 5-12 years old.  Tickets are required.  They are free and available starting 30 minutes before the program.

Thursday, February 27 @ 6:30 pm - Dr. Seuss Birthday Party (Read Across America) - We'll be celebrating the birthday of Dr. Seuss with some fun activities - crafts, games, a short movie, and food!  This program is for all ages.  Tickets are required.  They are free and available starting 30 minutes before the program.
