Freeman Library Celebrates Local Authors

As Clear Lake City-County Freeman Branch Library continues to celebrate our 50th anniversary, we’ll also be celebrating our local authors on Saturday, 8/23

Interested in becoming an author yourself?  Panel discussions and presentations by local authors are on the schedule and cover topics such as, “Finding Your Own Voice”, “What’s new in Publishing/Self-Publishing” and “How I Got Published” just to name a few.

Want to learn more about our local authors?  Sixteen are scheduled to appear, among them poets, children’s authors, science fiction authors, historical fiction authors, romance authors and more.  Including author readings and book signings, you will also have a chance to meet some of them by visiting the author tables set up around the library.

Representatives from our four book groups will be here so you can meet with and learn more about them.  These include the Clear Lake Science Fiction & Fantasy Book Group, the Freeman Mystery Book Club, Hofstetter Science Fiction & Fantasy Book Club and the Clear Lake chapter of the Great Books Discussion Group.  Members of the Clear Lake Area Writers group will also be here to speak with those interested in this writers’ critique group that meets the 2nd & 4th Saturdays of the month at Freeman.

Be sure to bring the whole family out for a day of fun celebrating our local talent, and enjoy the refreshments provided by The Fresh Market Bay Area.
