Love in Space

Obsidian PreyI love to read books that combine genres, and some of my favorite romance series combine romance with science fiction or fantasy. Not all of these novels take place on another planet, but they do borrow science fiction elements, like space travel, or fantasy elements, like the use of magic. If this genre mix sounds appealing to you, try some of these:

  • Robin D. Owen's Celta series, starting with Heart Mate - Most everyone on Celta has some sort of psychic power and many have animal familiars, who almost always steal the show in every book.
  • Jayne Castle's (also known as Jayne Ann Krentz) Harmony series, starting with After Dark - Professional ghost hunters and para-resonators use their extrasensory abilities to defuse relics from past civilizations.  Plus, anyone who reads these wants their own dust bunny.
  • Gena Showalter's Atlantis series, starting with Heart of the Dragon - Dragons, vampires, nymphs and more mingle in Atlantis, which it turns out was not so lost.
