Museum Art Workshop Begins for Seniors 55+

Barbara Bush Library continues to build cooperation with its newest neighbor, the Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts that occupies the old Cypress Creek Library building at 6815 Cypresswood Dr. The museum is offering a monthly 55+ Art Workshop series starting Wednesday, Sept. 2 from 9am-12pm in its Northgate Forest Conference Room. Each month, participants will work on a different project guided by Education Specialist Evelyn Bouley. All skill levels are welcome and the class is especially appropriate for those who are new to painting.

The first workshop will be painting a Texas Hill Country landscape in the style of the artists the Pearl has in the new exhibition, "An American View". Artists like Porfirio Salinas, Robert Onderdonk, and Robert Wood mastered the west Texas landscape. No Texas landscape would be complete without bluebonnets!

Workshop fees include the painting surface for the project (canvas, board, etc.) and participants may choose to use the museum's supplies at an additional charge:

Museum Member - $10;  Museum Member with Supplies - $20

Non-Member - $15; Non-Member with Supplies - $25

For more information or to sign up, contact the museum at 281-376-6322 or email Rosemary, the Museum's Education Director. Reservations are required.
