North Channel Book Club/Gulf Coast Reads

 Extremely Loud and Incredibly CloseFollowing the death of his father in the World Trade Center attacks, 9-year-old Oskar Schell, budding inventor and Francophile, is struggling to come to grips with the loss.  When he finds an envelope containing a key he doesn't recognize, Oskar embarks on a quest around New York to discover what the key unlocks.  Jonathan Safran Foer's "Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close" takes the reader on the journey with Oskar as he encounters quirky, and sometimes tragic, characters. 

The North Channel Book Club will meet on the main floor on Wednesday, October 24 at 10 am, to discuss the 2012 Gulf Coast Reads selection, "Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close," by Jonathan Safran Foer.

The book selected for next month is John Grisham's "Theodore Boone: The Accused."
