Pen and Paintbrush Book Club

The Marble Faun, by Hawthorne

Title to be discussed: Marble Faun, by Nathaniel Hawthorne.

Date of Meeting: Wednesday, December 9, 1:30pm, in the Northgate Forest Conference Room, Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts (next door to the Barbara Bush Library). [NOTE: This is a date change from that originally announced.]

The Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts, in partnership with the Barbara Bush Library, sponsors the Pen & Paintbrush Book Discussion. The books selected connect the current museum exhibition to a literary counterpart. Sessions include a special tour of the exhibition by Education Director Rosemary Hickman that highlights parallels between the selected book and the artwork on display.  The current exhibition is "An American View: The Hosek Collection of American Art." The featured book is Hawthorne's final novel, a provocative look at American artists abroad and a groundbreaking exploration of the influence of European thought on American morality.
