Recent Additions to the HCPL Digital Media Blog
Hopefully you have been enjoying the semi-weekly updates to the Digital Media Catalog eBooks section.
I have been able to create eBook orders on a weekly basis as opposed to the monthly basis as is normal. Three of the four I have ordered are actually live on the site. The fourth one was unexpectedly delayed after I ordered it but I am hopeful it should be live soon.
There were not enough good titles added to our vendor's catalog to order last week so I am combining last week’s picks with this week’s to order another list of titles. Because of donations from some of our branch’s friends of the library groups, this trend of ordering eBooks on a weekly basis should continue through at least January.
Because of the higher cost of eAudio, I am still forced to order those on a monthly basis. I should be finished with my next eAudio order soon.
Hopefully our eBook users have been able to see we were able to pick up more titles than usual this month and we also were fortunate enough to include some non-high demand titles in the orders.
An example is a few titles by Barbara Freethy that I decided to order on a whim. These titles became so popular I will be ordering more by her in my next few orders.
I was also able to include some cooking, knitting and humor titles like Creepiosity.
Again, I am happy to report that the trend of being able to purchase more titles than normal will continue through January.
I am likewise happy to report that we were finally able to purchase the rest of the eAudio titles in the Love at Stake series by Kerrelyn Sparks, series by Robert Jordan, and the Dark Hunter Series by Sherrilyn Kenyon. Again, this is for eAudio. They should be live in our catalog soon.
