On the Shelf: Fodor’s Nova Scotia & Atlantic Canada
In a few days, I’ll be leaving on a jet plane (and, yes, I know when I’ll be back again!).
My long-awaited “fall colors” cruise is about to begin, and with the help of various travel guides I found at the Kingwood Branch Library, I’ve been planning the things I’d like to see and do at the various ports-of-call. Fodor’s Nova Scotia & Atlantic Canada has provided an excellent overview of Halifax, Nova Scotia, while Lonely Planet USA & Canada on a Shoestring filled in the blanks for Portland and Bar Harbor, Maine, as well as Acadia National Park.
Whether you’re in the early stages of planning a trip, or you’ve made travel arrangements already, there’s a good chance you’ll find the guidebook you need at the Harris County Public Library. Fodor’s, Frommer’s, Lonely Planet, Rough Guide, Rick Steves, Moon Handbook and Smithsonian Guides to Natural America are all available for check out.
