Wishing you a frightful Halloween
Waite till Helen Comes by Mary Downing Hahn, was originally release over 20 years ago,
so why am I still recommend it to young people?
- First and foremost, it is well written. Mary Downing Hahn is a powerful author whose stories are frightening and suspenseful. A great choice for older children, tweens and teens.
- The author knows that a great story doesn't have to be a long one. Waite till Helen Comes is less than 200 pages which makes it a perfect match for those who might be reluctant readers.
- It has transcended time. This haunting tale is beloved by many including those of us who read it 20 years ago. I often suggest that parents read it with their children for ghost stories are always better when read aloud.
Below are a few additional tales that may keep you up at night.
