The Woman in Black haunts...

Happy New Year to you all! I hope your holiday season was full of fun, happiness and lots of food! I spent my holidays up north and while it was busy, I did take time to read a really great ghost story, The Woman in Black by Susan Hill.

The Woman in Black is about solicitor, Arthur Kipps, who journeys to a faraway town to settle the estate of the late Mrs. Alicia Drablow of Eel Marsh House. Arthur comes to find out that residents in the small town will not venture out to Mrs. Drablow's estate because of mysterious occurrences. As he goes about settling her affairs, Arthur finds himself in the midst of a series of strange happenings.

I highly recommend this book to you all! My coworker recommended it to me and boy am I glad she did. The Woman in Black is a highly descriptive easy read that definitely gave me a couple uncomfortable dreams! It was everything this horror-lover wanted in a book!

The Woman in Black, originally released in the 1980s, has recently gained some popularity as the movie based on the novel is set to release on February 3, 2012. I am very excited to see Daniel Radcliffe, of the Harry Potter series, take on the role of Arthur Kipps. If you get a chance, check out both! I've happily provided the official movie trailer for The Woman in Black for you! Enjoy!
