Young Adult Intern Wanted at the Library

Barbara Bush Library Friends are happy to announce that they will sponsor a new summer intern position at the library!

The Young Adult Services Summer Intern position is a 20 hour a week temporary position created to aid the Young Adult Librarian in running the Teen Summer Reading Program during June and July. This year’s Teen Summer Reading Program contains over 50 programs for teens ages 12-18.  Programs run the gamut from movie days to craft events, martial arts workshops to a first-ever teen overnight Lock-In.  The new Intern will aid in the set up, execution and tear down of teen programs as well as encourage teens to sign up for summer events.

Applicants must be current college students who have completed at least one year of college.  Experience with teens ages 12-18 is preferred.

The intern will be hired through A-1 Personnel, a temporary agency, at the pay rate of $8.50 per hour. Passing a drug test and a background check are required before hiring.

Interested in the Young Adult Summer Intern position?  Contact the Young Adult Librarian at ccteen@hcpl.net or 281-376-4610.
