It's Movie Time on Saturday's at the Jacinto City Branch Library.  Every Saturday from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm we are showing a movie in the Meeting Room.  Come and join us!

Passing of Maya Angelou, 86 years old

American Red Cross 133rd Founding Anniversary

May 21st is the 133rd founding anniversary of the American Red Cross by Clara Barton.  In 1864 the Red Cross was founded in Switzerland by representatives from 16 European nations.   For more information on the American Red Cross go to www.redcross.org.

Expanded Hours at Five HCPL Branches

More time at your libraryOn June 1, 2014, customers of five Harris County Public Library branches will see an increase in their library’s operating hours. 

  • Galena Park, Northwest and South Houston branch libraries, which are currently closed on Fridays, will all be open Fridays 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Jacinto City and Stratford branches will add more weekend hours. They, along with all other HCPL locations, will be open Saturdays 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
