Your Story: The Story of a Lifetime!

Are you a Latino who has an interesting life story to tell? Do you want to do something special, something that will make you a part of history? Then you should take part in StoryCorps Historias.

StoryCorps Historias is part of StoryCorps, an independent nonprofit project whose mission is to celebrate one another’s lives through listening. StoryCorps will be coming to Houston’s Discovery Green Park – Maconda’s Cove, on the corner of LaBranch and McKinney St. They will be there from November 19 – December 19, 2009.

You must make a reservation in advance to take part in this opportunity. To make your reservation, or just to find out more about StoryCorps and the MobileBooth in Houston, follow this link.

December Teen Events

Hey! Just wanted to remind everyone about our teen Anime Club that meets once a month.  This month we're meeting on November 20th at 4pm. All teens are welcome and we'll have free drinks and snacks as we watch the continuing saga of Lina Inverse, Gourry Gabriev, Amelia Wil Tesla Seyrunn, and Zelgadis Greywords on their quest to seek answers from the Claire Bible.  Of course all of this is accomplished with quite a bit of hilarity and sarcasm.  Hope to see you there.

Cooking Up Fun!

Sunyoung and Anna make playclay!Did you know that you could make your very own all-natural Play-doh? Our kids at the Infant Process Craft last Thursday found out all about it and made fun things out of clay made right here with all-natural ingredients. The clay is made from things you can find around your kitchen such as flour and salt—or if you don’t have them, you can just go to your friendly neighborhood grocery store and buy them! And if you’re worried about your child eating the clay, don’t worry too much. Since it’s all-natural, it won’t hurt your child (and all the salt in will probably keep them from trying to taste seconds). If you’re interested in making your own, follow this link!

Thank you!!!!!!

Thanks to the entire Friend’s of the Bear Creek Library for their hard work during the Fall Book Sale and Silent Auction! We appreciate everything you do for the library! Because of your generosity we are able to continue to provide some great programs for our community.

Slime in the Library

Slimed! Even though Halloween has come and gone, it’s not too late to get slimed! Our No School Today kids made their very own slime last Saturday. It’s the perfect gooey concoction for Halloween, or just for anytime you want to make something fun. You can make your own slime, too! Follow this link to find out how.
