Thumbs Up for 'The Blind Side'

Blind Side coverMy family and I went to see ‘The Blind Side’ with Sandra Bullock this past weekend. It is based on a true story about a homeless young man who is taken in by a family and becomes a football player. The book that the movie is based upon, The Blindside:  Evolution of a Game, is available through the library. The movie is rated PG-13 and it was one that we all enjoyed.

Thanksgiving Meal PictureThanksgiving Dinner will be served to the La Porte community on Monday, November 23, at New Hope Baptist Church, 222 N. Fourth St. from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. This dinner is provided through a joint effort of New Hope Baptist Church and St. Mark’s United Methodist Church. “Come and enjoy a free home-cooked Thanksgiving dinner”.
