Summer Time!

Yes, we still have a week left of school, but here at the Maud Marks Library, we just can't wait any longer for summer to start!  Everyone is invited to start signing up for our Summer Reading Club beginning on Monday.  Babies (up to 18 months) who's parents help them complete the summer reading club receive a free bib.  Children (up to the age of 12) who read 10 books or 500 minutes receive a free book and certificate.  Teens (ages 12-18) who read 5 books or 600 minutes receive free earbuds.

Summer Storytime Changes

Starting the week of June 2, we will  be suspending the Tuesday 11:15 AM Toddler Time  and the Thursday 11:15 AM  Infant Storytime. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Remember this Memorial Day...

Memorial Day is a day to remember the sacrifices that were made for us to live in this country and have the freedoms that we have. The library will be closed so that we can honor our veterans, but that doesn’t mean you can’t check out a book. We have a huge eBook collection on our website. There is no charge for downloading a book to your device, but you must have a Harris County Public Library card. There are on-line How-To tutorials and we offer two classes/workshops in June. Register for a class scheduled on Saturday, June 7 at 10 am or on Tuesday, June 24 at 7 pm.

Deadline Coming!

Don't forget to get your summer volunteer application in by THIS Saturday if you want your preferred time slot.  Opening are available in one of two 5-week sessions.  You will be asked to volunteer 2 hours per day, twice a week for the session that you choose.  Also, remember that orientation is mandatory unless you volunteered this past spring.   There are other opportunities also available this summer including Customer Count week and a one week mini-session at the end of the summer.

So, come on in to get an application.  Your assistance this summer is greatly appreciated.
