They weren't supposed to succeed.  They were the rejected and outcast students of their high school.  But they had a secret weapon: their teachers, Mike Kersjes and Robynn McKinney, who believed that they could do anything. Even go to Space Camp where the best and brightest students competed in activities similar to those experienced by NASA astronauts.  Kersjes and McKinney knew that their kids could rise to the challenge if only given the chance.  

Para Los Ninos

Children's Museum of Houston logoThe Children's Museum of Houston will be coming to North Channel Branch Library to lead story time on Tuesday, April 24 beginning at 10:30 am in the meeting room.  The Para Los Ninos program will feature bilingual activities including the new Invent-a-Color and Bridge Builder. If you are interested in bringing a group, please call the library to ensure that there will be room. This event is recommended for children ages 2 to 7 years old.
 

AARP tax help @ your library!

April 12th is your last chance!!  The **FREE** AARP tax help program ends with the Thursday, April 12th session. Please come into the North Channel Library starting at 10 am to sign up for your time slot. AARP volunteers will see customers from 12 to 4 pm this Thursday. Wii Gamers in the LibraryCalling all Teens and Tweens! Calling all Teens and Tweens!  Assemble in the North Channel Branch Library meeting room, Wednesday, April 11, at 4 pm for Wii gaming and fun with friends.  Repeat, meet at 4 pm, April 11, in the meeting room for gaming and fun.

Tween Time Fun @ North Channel!

Wondering what Tween Time is all about?  It's about all kinds of things!  Last week we made geometric sculptures out of straws and paper clips while enjoying delicious snacks.  Next month, who knows what we'll be doing.  It could be crafts or science experiments or cooking or a mystery activity!  You'll have to come to our next Tween Time program on Wednesday, April 25th at 4:30 pm to find out!
