Pokémon Club this Thursday @ The Library

 

 

 

Children ages 7 to 10 years old are invited to join our Pokemon Club.

This meeting will be a great opportunity to meet other players and share ideas. Please make sure to bring your Nintendo DS, games, trading cards, and anything else you would like to share and discuss.

Opera @ the Library?...For Kids??? YES!

The Atascocita Branch Library is proud to present, Storybook Opera.

 

Do you know that Houston has an internationally renowned opera company? Houston Grand Opera (HGO) is one of the things that makes Houston a special place to live. It is the "only opera company to have won a Tony, two Grammy awards and two Emmy awards!"

Teens & Tweens: This Week is Food & Zines!

Calling all Teens and Tweens! 

On Wednesday, July 17th at 3pm join us for Weird Science: Molecular Gastronomy. Make see through ravioli, sample strawberry jam caviar, and decorate cupcakes with edible rose pellets.

On Thursday, July, 18th at 3pm create your own person zine during Zine Scene. Take a trip this summer with the Harris County Public Library's Summer Reading program and Zine Fest Houston!  In this particular Summer Reading program, teens will create a collaborative travel zine of their favorite places in Houston, learn all about zines and self-publishing, and take part in the zine process from start to finish.  The completed zine will be included in the Zine Fest Houston workshop series collection and library.

On Tuesday, June 16th, Ferrets Will Be Visiting The Library!

Tuesday, July 16th, the Houston Area Ferret Association will be presenting a special hands on learning program for children. 

The space is limited, and free tickets are available 30 minutes prior to the program's start at 3:30 pm.

Pond Life becomes WILD about Texas at Atascocita

Please note that our Life in a Pond presentation is now WILD about Texas.  Presented by the Houston Audubon Society this program explores examples of native Texas wildlife from each vertebrate class.  Participants have the opportunity to meet live animals.  

The space is limited, and free tickets are available 30 minutes prior to the program's start at 3:30 on Monday, July 15.
